Section 108, Row 60

For twenty-some-odd years, we have spent countless Saturdays in the fall watching the Dawgs play football. We have traveled from Williams-Bryce Stadium in Columbia, SC to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, and everywhere in between. But nothing is sweeter than entering Gate Two of Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA, ninety minutes before kickoff. There is no greater earthly feeling than being welcomed back home by Row 60. Every time you sit down on its cold, steel bleachers, it’s like catching up with a best friend you haven’t seen in a while.

Row 60 is the home to our family’s season tickets. Our uncle Roy is gracious enough to let us two cousins sit there each Saturday in Athens. Throughout our lives, we have shared great memories watching Georgia Football with our friends, parents, relatives, and our wives. I think back to the time when Mississippi State came to town in 2017 and Adam scaled the wall out of excitement after the flea-flicker to open the game. Or in 2013 when Jordan Jenkins hurdled a tight end to hurry Zach Mettenberger for the game-sealing incomplete pass and the stadium erupted. We have been on Row 60 in all of the good and bad times.

It’s a sacred place filled with red & black, laughter, and occasional tears of joy.

It’s where the idea of this podcast was born.
